Dosage Information

Adult Dose

Initial dose of 750 mg IV (for patients weighing < 60 kg), 1000 mg IV (for patients weighing 60-100 kg), or 1250 mg IV (for patients weighing > 100 kg) on day 1, followed by 750 mg, 1000 mg, or 1250 mg at 2 and 4 weeks, then every 4 weeks thereafter. For subcutaneous administration, 125 mg once weekly after the initial loading dose.

Pediatric Dose

For juvenile idiopathic arthritis, the dose is based on weight: 10 mg/kg (up to a maximum of 100 mg) subcutaneously once weekly for patients aged 2 years and older.

Side Effects

Common side effects include headache, upper respiratory tract infections, nausea, and injection site reactions.

Important Warnings

Increased risk of serious infections; monitor for signs of infection. Caution in patients with a history of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or those receiving immunosuppressive therapy. Not recommended for use in patients with active infections or malignancies.
