About Atropine

Use: | Treatment of bradycardia, asystole, organophosphate poisoning, and to reduce salivation and bronchial secretions during surgery  
Adult dose: | 0.5 to 1 mg IV every 3-5 minutes as needed, up to a total of 3 mg for bradycardia; 1-2 mg IV for organophosphate poisoning  
Pediatric dose: | 0.02 mg/kg IV (minimum dose 0.1 mg, maximum single dose 0.5 mg) for bradycardia; 0.05-0.1 mg/kg for organophosphate poisoning
