Contraindications & Precautions
Contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to bismuth subcitrate potassium, metronidazole, tetracycline, or any other component of the formulation. It is also contraindicated in pregnant women, nursing mothers, and in patients with severe renal impairment.
Important Warnings
Important safety warnings include the potential for metronidazole to cause carcinogenicity, the risk of pseudomembranous colitis, and the potential for tetracycline to cause permanent tooth discoloration in children. Avoid alcohol consumption during treatment and for at least 3 days after the last dose due to the risk of a disulfiram-like reaction with metronidazole.
