Use: | Treatment of cystic fibrosis to improve pulmonary function by reducing the viscosity of mucus in the lungs
Adult dose: | 2.5 mg (1 ampule) once daily via nebulization
Pediatric dose: | 2.5 mg (1 ampule) once daily via nebulization for patients aged 5 years and older; safety and efficacy not established in children under 5 years
Side effects: | Chest pain, sore throat, voice alteration, rash, and diarrhea; may also cause bronchospasm in some patients
