Dosage Information
Adult Dose
The standard adult dose is 8 mg administered 30 minutes before the start of chemotherapy, followed by 8 mg every 12 hours for 1 to 2 days post-chemotherapy. For postoperative nausea and vomiting, a single dose of 16 mg is administered 1 hour before anesthesia.
Pediatric Dose

Common side effects include headache, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, and fatigue.
Contraindications & Precautions
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to ondansetron or any of its components. Caution is advised in patients with a history of QT prolongation, electrolyte imbalances, or those taking other medications that may prolong the QT interval.
Important Warnings
Ondansetron may cause dose-dependent QT interval prolongation, which can lead to Torsades de Pointes, a potentially life-threatening arrhythmia. Use with caution in patients with risk factors for QT prolongation. Monitor electrolyte levels and ECG in at-risk patients.
