About Oxomemazine
Class: | Antihistamine (H1 receptor antagonist)
Use: | Treatment of allergic conditions such as rhinitis, urticaria, and as a cough suppressant
Adult dose: | 10-20 mg (30-60 ml of syrup) taken 2-3 times daily, not to exceed 60 mg per day
Pediatric dose: | 5-10 mg (15-30 ml of syrup) taken 2-3 times daily for children aged 2-12 years; consult a physician for children under 2 years
Side effects: | Drowsiness, dry mouth, dizziness, gastrointestinal disturbances, blurred vision
