About Rituximab (RIXATHON)
Class: | Monoclonal antibody (CD20 antagonist)
Use: | Treatment of certain types of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), rheumatoid arthritis, and granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Wegener's granulomatosis)
Adult dose: | 375 mg/m² IV infusion once weekly for 4 weeks for non-Hodgkin lymphoma; 500 mg IV infusion on day 1, followed by 500 mg on day 15 for CLL; 1000 mg IV infusion for rheumatoid arthritis (combined with methotrexate)

Risk of severe infusion reactions; monitor patients closely during and after infusion; potential for serious infections; may reactivate hepatitis B virus; risk of PML; premedication with antihistamines and corticosteroids is recommended to reduce infusion reactions
