Contraindications & Precautions
History of ischemic heart disease, uncontrolled hypertension, hemiplegic or basilar migraine, severe hepatic impairment, hypersensitivity to sumatriptan, concurrent use with MAO inhibitors or within 2 weeks of discontinuation, use within 24 hours of ergotamine derivatives or other triptans
Important Warnings
Risk of serious cardiovascular events, including myocardial infarction and stroke; monitor for serotonin syndrome, especially with concomitant use of SSRIs/SNRIs; use with caution in patients with risk factors for coronary artery disease; overuse may lead to medication overuse headache
