Dosage Information
Adult Dose
Paracetamol: 500-1000 mg every 4-6 hours as needed, not to exceed 3000 mg per day. Pseudoephedrine: 60 mg every 4-6 hours as needed, not to exceed 240 mg per day.
Pediatric Dose
Paracetamol: 10-15 mg/kg every 4-6 hours as needed, not to exceed 75 mg/kg per day. Pseudoephedrine: Not recommended for children under 6 years; for children 6-12 years, 30 mg every 4-6 hours as needed, not to exceed 120 mg per day.
Side Effects
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, dizziness, and insomnia. Rare but serious side effects may include liver damage (from overdose) and allergic reactions.
Contraindications & Precautions
Contraindicated in patients with severe liver disease, hypersensitivity to paracetamol or pseudoephedrine, and those taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) within 14 days.
Important Warnings
Use with caution in patients with liver disease, hypertension, diabetes, or prostate enlargement. Overdose can lead to severe liver damage; seek immediate medical attention if overdose is suspected. Avoid alcohol while taking this medication.
