Dosage Information
Adult Dose
The standard adult dose is 10 ml (30 mg) taken 2 to 3 times daily.
Pediatric Dose
For children aged 6-12 years, the dose is 5 ml (15 mg) 2 to 3 times daily. For children aged 2-6 years, the dose is 2.5 ml (7.5 mg) 3 times daily. For children under 2 years, consult a healthcare provider for appropriate dosing.
Side Effects
Common side effects include gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Other side effects may include dry mouth, taste disturbances, and allergic reactions such as rash, urticaria, and pruritus.
Contraindications & Precautions
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ambroxol or any of the excipients. Caution is advised in patients with gastric ulceration and in those with severe hepatic or renal impairment.
Important Warnings
Use with caution in patients with a history of peptic ulcer disease. Discontinue use if hypersensitivity reactions occur. Not recommended for use during the first trimester of pregnancy. Consult a healthcare provider before use during breastfeeding.
