About Ampicillin Sodium
Class: | Penicillin-class antibacterial
Use: | Treatment of infections caused by susceptible strains of bacteria, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, meningitis, and septicemia.
Adult dose: | 250 mg to 2 g every 4 to 6 hours, depending on the severity and type of infection.
Pediatric dose: | 25 to 50 mg/kg/day in divided doses every 6 hours; for severe infections, up to 200 mg/kg/day in divided doses.

Storage Requirements
Store the powder at room temperature, 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F). Reconstituted solution should be used immediately or stored under refrigeration and used within 24 hours.

Dosage Information
