Class: | Aromatase inhibitor
Use: | Treatment of hormone receptor-positive early breast cancer in postmenopausal women; also used for advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women who have progressed on tamoxifen therapy.
Adult dose: | 25 mg orally once daily after a meal.
Pediatric dose: | Not established; not recommended for use in pediatric patients.
Side effects: | Hot flashes, fatigue, joint pain, nausea, increased sweating, headache, and insomnia.
