About Calcium Chloride

Class:|Electrolyte replenisher. Use:|Treatment of hypocalcemia, hyperkalemia, hypermagnesemia, and as an adjunct in cardiac resuscitation. Adult dose:|500 mg to 1 g (5 to 10 mL) intravenously, repeated as necessary at 1 to 3-day intervals. Pediatric dose:|20 mg/kg (0.2 mL/kg) intravenously, not to exceed 1 g per dose, repeated as necessary. Side effects:|Bradycardia, hypotension, vasodilation, nausea, vomiting, tingling sensations, and a sensation of heat waves. Contraindications:|Hype
