Uses & Indications

Treatment of invasive aspergillosis in patients who are intolerant of or refractory to other antifungal therapies; treatment of candidemia and other forms of Candida infections; treatment of esophageal candidiasis.

Storage Requirements

Store at 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F); protect from light; reconstituted solution should be used immediately or stored at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F) for up to 24 hours.

Dosage Information

Adult Dose

70 mg IV on day 1, followed by 50 mg IV once daily.

Pediatric Dose

For patients 3 months to 17 years: 70 mg/m² IV on day 1, followed by 50 mg/m² IV once daily (maximum 70 mg).

Side Effects

Fever, rash, nausea, vomiting, headache, infusion-related reactions, elevated liver enzymes, and hypokalemia.

Contraindications & Precautions

Hypersensitivity to caspofungin or any component of the formulation; caution in patients with hepatic impairment.
