Dosage Information

Adult Dose

Initial dose of 0.1 mg orally twice daily; may be increased by 0.1 mg per week as needed, with a maximum dose of 2.4 mg/day.

Pediatric Dose

For ADHD, initial dose of 0.1 mg at bedtime for children aged 6-17 years; may be increased by 0.1 mg weekly, with a maximum dose of 0.4 mg/day.

Side Effects

Drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation, fatigue, dizziness, hypotension, bradycardia, and rebound hypertension upon abrupt discontinuation.

Contraindications & Precautions

Hypersensitivity to clonidine or any component of the formulation; severe coronary insufficiency; advanced heart block; concurrent use with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).

Important Warnings

Caution in patients with a history of depression, renal impairment, or cardiovascular disease; abrupt discontinuation can lead to rebound hypertension; monitor blood pressure regularly during treatment.
