About Chlorpheniramine Maleate
Class: | Antihistamine (First-generation H1 receptor antagonist)
Use: | Relief of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis (hay fever), allergic conjunctivitis, and other allergic conditions; also used for the common cold symptoms.
Adult dose: | 4 mg every 4 to 6 hours as needed; do not exceed 24 mg in 24 hours.
Pediatric dose: | Children 2 to 6 years: 1 mg every 4 to 6 hours; do not exceed 6 mg in 24 hours. Children 6 to 12 years: 2 mg every 4 to 6 hours; do not exceed 12 mg in 24 hours
