Dosage Information

Adult Dose

For seizure disorders, the initial dose is typically 10-15 mg/kg/day, increasing by 5-10 mg/kg/week to achieve optimal clinical response. For bipolar disorder, the initial dose is 750 mg/day in divided doses, adjusted as needed. For migraine prophylaxis, the usual dose is 250 mg twice daily.

Pediatric Dose
