Use: | Treatment of acute diarrhea in adults and children, particularly when diarrhea is not accompanied by fever or blood in the stool.
Adult dose: | 100 mg (10 mg granules) three times daily for up to 3 days.
Pediatric dose: | 1 mg/kg (up to a maximum of 100 mg) three times daily for children aged 3 months to 14 years, for up to 3 days.
Side effects: | Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and headache.
