Hypersensitivity to diazepam or other benzodiazepines, severe respiratory insufficiency, sleep apnea syndrome, myasthenia gravis, acute narrow-angle glaucoma, pregnancy (especially in the first trimester)

Risk of dependence and withdrawal symptoms, caution in elderly patients, potential for abuse, may cause sedation and impair ability to perform tasks requiring alertness, avoid alcohol and other CNS depressants
