Use: | Enoxaparin Sodium is used for the prevention and treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), which may lead to pulmonary embolism (PE). It is also used in the management of acute coronary syndromes, including unstable angina and non-Q-wave myocardial infarction, and for the prevention of thrombus formation in extracorporeal circulation during hemodialysis.

                        For DVT prophylaxis in abdominal surgery: 40 mg subcutaneously once daily. For DVT prophylaxis in knee or hip replacement surgery: 30 mg subcutaneously every 12 hours. For treatment of DVT with or without PE: 1 mg/kg subcutaneously every 12 hours or 1.5 mg/kg once daily. For unstable angina or non-Q-wave myocardial infarction: 1 mg/kg subcutaneously every 12 hours, along with oral aspirin.
                    
                    
                        Pediatric Dose
                    
                    
                        Dosing in pediatric patients is not well established and should be determined by a healthcare professional based on individual patient needs and clinical condition.
                    
                 
                
                
                    
                        Side Effects
                    
                    Common side effects include bleeding, anemia, thrombocytopenia, elevated liver enzymes, and local reactions at the injection site such as pain, bruising, or redness.
                 
             
         
        
        
            
                Contraindications & Precautions
            
            Contraindicated in patients with active major bleeding, history of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia, hypersensitivity to enoxaparin, heparin, or pork products, and in patients undergoing neuraxial anesthesia or spinal puncture due to risk of spinal/epidural hematomas.
         
        
        
            
                Important Warnings
            
            Use with caution in patients with increased risk of bleeding, such as those with recent surgery, peptic ulcer disease, or uncontrolled hypertension. Monitor for signs of bleeding and adjust dosing in patients with renal impairment.
