About Nifuroxazide
Class: | Antimicrobial agent (Nitrofuran derivative)
Use: | Treatment of acute diarrhea and gastroenteritis caused by non-specific bacterial infections
Adult dose: | 200 mg orally, three times daily for 3 to 7 days
Pediatric dose: | Not recommended for children under 6 years; for children 6 years and older, 100 mg orally, three times daily
Side effects: | Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, allergic reactions (rash, pruritus)
Contraindications: | Hypersensitivity to nifuroxazid
