Dosage Information

Adult Dose

1000 IU to 20000 IU subcutaneously or intravenously, administered 1 to 3 times per week depending on hemoglobin levels and clinical response.

Pediatric Dose

400 IU/kg subcutaneously or intravenously, administered 1 to 3 times per week; maximum dose should not exceed 600 IU/kg/week.

Side Effects

Hypertension, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, and injection site reactions.

Contraindications & Precautions

Uncontrolled hypertension, known hypersensitivity to Erythropoietin or any component of the formulation, and pure red cell aplasia (PRCA) following Erythropoietin therapy.
