Dosage Information

Adult Dose

Initial dose of 5 mg/kg administered as an intravenous infusion at weeks 0, 2, and 6, followed by maintenance doses of 5 mg/kg every 8 weeks

Pediatric Dose

For pediatric Crohn's disease, initial dose of 5 mg/kg at weeks 0, 2, and 6, followed by maintenance doses of 5 mg/kg every 8 weeks; for pediatric ulcerative colitis, similar dosing may apply

Side Effects

Infusion reactions, infections, headache, abdominal pain, nausea, fatigue, and increased liver enzymes

Contraindications & Precautions

Hypersensitivity to infliximab or any component of the formulation; active infections (e.g., tuberculosis); moderate to severe heart failure

Important Warnings

Risk of serious infections, including tuberculosis; malignancies; hepatotoxicity; infusion-related reactions; monitor for signs of infection and perform screening for tuberculosis prior to initiation
