About Ertapenem Sodium
Class: | Carbapenem antibiotic
Use: | Treatment of complicated intra-abdominal infections, complicated skin and skin structure infections, community-acquired pneumonia, and acute pelvic infections.
Adult dose: | 1 g IV once daily, infused over 30 minutes.
Pediatric dose: | 15 mg/kg IV once daily for children aged 3 months to 17 years, not to exceed 1 g.
Side effects: | Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, rash, and infusion site reactions.
Contraindications: | Hypersensitivity to erta
