Adult dose: | For prevention: 250 mg once weekly; for treatment: 750 mg initially, followed by 500 mg after 6-8 hours, then 250 mg on the following 2 days
Pediatric dose: | For prevention: 5 mg/kg once weekly; for treatment: 15 mg/kg initially, followed by 10 mg/kg after 6-8 hours, then 5 mg/kg on the following 2 days (not to exceed adult doses)
