About Ceftazidime Pentahydrate

Use: | Treatment of infections caused by susceptible Gram-negative bacteria, including pneumonia, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and intra-abdominal infections.
Adult dose: | 1 to 2 grams every 8 to 12 hours, depending on the severity of the infection and renal function.
Pediatric dose: | 30 to 50 mg/kg/day divided into 2 to 3 doses; maximum 6 grams per day.
