About Esomeprazole
Class: | Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI)
Use: | Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome; prevention of gastric ulcers in patients taking NSAIDs.
Adult dose: | 20 mg to 40 mg once daily for 4 to 8 weeks for GERD; 20 mg once daily for maintenance therapy; higher doses may be used for Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Pediatric dose: | For children aged 1 to 11 years, 10 mg to 20 mg once daily; for children aged 12 years and older, 20 mg

Dosage Information
