About Physostigmine Salicylate
Class: | Cholinesterase inhibitor
Use: | Treatment of anticholinergic toxicity, particularly in cases of overdose of anticholinergic agents; also used in the management of glaucoma and as a diagnostic agent in certain conditions.
Adult dose: | 1 to 2 mg IV slowly, may repeat every 10 to 15 minutes as needed, with a maximum total dose of 5 mg.
Pediatric dose: | 0.02 mg/kg IV, may repeat every 10 to 15 minutes as needed, with a maximum total dose of 0.05 mg/kg.
