Adult Dose
Paracetamol: 500 mg to 1000 mg every 4 to 6 hours as needed (maximum 4000 mg/day); Pseudoephedrine: 60 mg every 4 to 6 hours (maximum 240 mg/day); Triprolidine: 2.5 mg to 5 mg every 4 to 6 hours (maximum 10 mg/day).
Pediatric Dose
Paracetamol: 10-15 mg/kg every 4 to 6 hours as needed (maximum 75 mg/kg/day); Pseudoephedrine: 2-6 years: 15 mg every 6 hours (maximum 60 mg/day); 6-12 years: 30 mg every 6 hours (maximum 120 mg/day); Triprolidine: 2-6 years: 1.25 mg every 4 to 6 hours (maximum 5 mg/day); 6-12 years: 2.5 mg every 4 to 6 hours (maximum 10 mg/day).
Side Effects
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain (Paracetamol), insomnia, dizziness, nervousness (Pseudoephedrine), drowsiness, dry mouth, blurred vision (Triprolidine).
Contraindications & Precautions
Paracetamol: severe liver disease; Pseudoephedrine: severe hypertension, severe coronary artery disease; Triprolidine: hypersensitivity to the drug or its components, narrow-angle glaucoma, urinary retention.
Important Warnings
Use with caution in patients with liver disease (Paracetamol), cardiovascular disease (Pseudoephedrine), and in elderly patients. Overdose of Paracetamol can lead to severe liver damage. Pseudoephedrine may cause increased blood pressure; monitor in hypertensive patients. Triprolidine may cause sedation; avoid operating heavy machinery or driving.
