About Pilocarpine Hydrochloride
Class: | Cholinergic agonist
Use: | Treatment of glaucoma and ocular hypertension; induction of miosis during ophthalmic surgery; treatment of dry mouth (xerostomia) in patients with Sjögren's syndrome or following radiation therapy.
Adult dose: | 1-2 drops in the affected eye(s) 2-4 times daily for glaucoma; for dry mouth, 1-2 drops in the affected eye(s) as needed.
Pediatric dose: | Safety and efficacy not established in children; use is not recommended unless directed by a physician.
