Dosage Information

Adult Dose

The typical adult dose for thiamine deficiency is 5 to 30 mg orally per day, depending on the severity of the deficiency. For Wernicke's encephalopathy, higher doses (up to 100 mg) may be administered intravenously initially.

Pediatric Dose

For children, the usual oral dose is 0.5 to 1 mg/kg/day, not exceeding 5 mg per day, depending on the clinical indication.
