About Pyrazinamide

Use: | Treatment of active tuberculosis (TB) in combination with other antitubercular agents
Adult dose: | 25 mg/kg (up to a maximum of 2 g) once daily or 50 mg/kg (up to a maximum of 4 g) twice weekly, as part of a multidrug regimen
Pediatric dose: | 15 mg/kg (up to a maximum of 2 g) once daily, as part of a multidrug regimen
Side effects: | Hepatotoxicity, gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, vomiting), rash, arthralgia, hyperuricemia
