Uses & Indications

Treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) and metastatic high-risk castration-sensitive prostate cancer (mCSPC) in combination with prednisone.

Storage Requirements

Dosage Information

Adult Dose

1000 mg (four 250 mg tablets) taken orally once daily, taken on an empty stomach (at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal), in combination with prednisone 5 mg daily.

Pediatric Dose

Safety and efficacy have not been established in pediatric patients; not recommended for use in children.

Side Effects

Fatigue, hypertension, hypokalemia, fluid retention, liver function test abnormalities, hot flushes, diarrhea, and joint pain.

Contraindications & Precautions

Hypersensitivity to abiraterone acetate or any component of the formulation; pregnancy and lactation; severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh Class C).
