About Adenosine

Use: | Treatment of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT), including atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVRT) and as a diagnostic agent in certain types of tachycardia

Dosage Information
Adult Dose

Known hypersensitivity to adenosine, second- or third-degree AV block (unless a functioning pacemaker is present), sick sinus syndrome (unless a functioning pacemaker is present), and bronchoconstrictive or bronchospastic lung disease
Important Warnings
May cause severe bradycardia or asystole; monitor cardiac rhythm continuously during administration; caution in patients with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) due to potential bronchospasm; use with caution in patients with a history of seizures or those receiving theophylline or dipyridamole, as these can affect adenosine's efficacy
