Important Warnings
Ribavirin can cause hemolytic anemia, which may lead to worsening of cardiac disease. It is teratogenic; both male and female patients must use effective contraception during treatment and for 6 months after discontinuation. Regular monitoring of hemoglobin levels is recommended.
