About Liraglutide
Class: | Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist
Use: | Indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycemic control in adults, and for weight management in patients with obesity or overweight with at least one weight-related comorbidity.
Adult dose: | Initial dose is 0.6 mg subcutaneously once daily for one week, then may be increased to 1.2 mg or 1.8 mg once daily based on glycemic control and tolerability.

Dosage Information
Adult Dose

Contraindications & Precautions
Contraindicated in patients with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2), and in patients with a history of severe hypersensitivity to liraglutide or any of its components.
Important Warnings
Risk of thyroid C-cell tumors; pancreatitis; renal impairment; hypoglycemia when used with other antidiabetic medications; and potential risk of allergic reactions. Regular monitoring of renal function is recommended.
