About Liraglutide
Class: | GLP-1 receptor agonist
Use: | Indicated for chronic weight management in adults with obesity (BMI ≥30 kg/m²) or overweight (BMI ≥27 kg/m²) with at least one weight-related comorbidity.
Adult dose: | Initial dose of 0.6 mg subcutaneously once daily for one week, then increase to 1.2 mg once daily. May be increased to a maximum dose of 3 mg once daily based on tolerance and efficacy.
Pediatric dose: | Safety and efficacy not established in pediatric patients under 18 years of age.

Dosage Information

Contraindications & Precautions
Personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2), and hypersensitivity to liraglutide or any component of the formulation.
Important Warnings
Risk of thyroid C-cell tumors, pancreatitis, renal impairment, and hypoglycemia when used with insulin or sulfonylureas. Not recommended for use in patients with a history of pancreatitis.
