About Metoclopramide Hydrochloride
Class: | Antiemetic, Prokinetic agent
Use: | Treatment of nausea and vomiting, including that associated with chemotherapy, postoperative recovery, and migraine; also used for gastroparesis and to facilitate gastric emptying.
Adult dose: | 10 mg rectally, up to 4 times daily as needed, not exceeding 40 mg per day.
Pediatric dose: | Not typically recommended for children under 2 years; for children 2-14 years, 0.1 to 0.15 mg/kg/dose rectally, up to 4 times daily, not exceeding 0.5 mg/kg/day
