                        Side Effects
                    
                    Common side effects include headache, influenza, diarrhea, back pain, liver enzyme elevations, and cough. Other side effects may include bradycardia, hypertension, and macular edema.
                 
             
         
        
        
            
                Contraindications & Precautions
            
            Fingolimod is contraindicated in patients with recent myocardial infarction, unstable angina, stroke, transient ischemic attack, decompensated heart failure requiring hospitalization, or Class III/IV heart failure. It is also contraindicated in patients with certain types of heart block or sick sinus syndrome unless they have a pacemaker, and in those with a history of hypersensitivity to fingolimod or any of its components.
         
        
        
            
                Important Warnings
            
            Fingolimod may increase the risk of infections, including serious infections. Monitor for signs of infection during treatment and for two months after discontinuation. It can cause macular edema, especially in patients with a history of uveitis or diabetes. Liver function should be monitored due to potential hepatotoxicity. Cardiovascular effects such as bradycardia and hypertension require monitoring, especially after the first dose.
